On February 22 in Yerevan, at the "Moscow" cinema, the congress of the Yezidi National Union will take place, at which a new President of the Union will be elected.
According to the Yezidi National Union, a documentary film dedicated to the blessed memory of the President of the Yezidi National Union, Yezidi leader Mr. Azize Amar Tamoyan will be shown before the elections. It tells about the patriotic activities of Aziz Tamoyan, who was elected in 1988 and headed the structure for about 33 years, also leaded the Yezidi movement in Armenia from 1973, as well as about the Armenian-Yezidi friendship.
Then, video messages from the heads of international Yezidi organizations who were unable to attend the conference will be presented. Special messages were sent by the spiritual leader of the Yezidis, Emir of Shangala Mir Naif bin Daud, the head of the Yezidi community of Canada Mirza Ismail and the commander of the Yezidi military association from Iraq Ali Isa (Khal Ali). Video messages from the heads of the Yezidi structures in Germany, Sweden, France and Russia will also be shown.
A new President of the Yezidi National Union will be elected by a majority vote of the members of the forum presidium of the Yezidi National Union. The only candidate is the grandson of Aziz Tamoyan Khdr Hajoyan (Tamoyan).
