On 2 December, Komitas Museum-Institute in the Armenian capital of Yerevan hosted the closing and award ceremony of the country’s second European Film Festival. The festival’s main award, “Woman in Motion”, was granted to film director Silva Khnkanosyan for her film “Nothing to be Afraid of”.

The event took place from 10 November to 2 December, with films screened in four Armenian cities: Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor and Dilijan.

This year, the main screenings included 12 recent films from 12 EU Member States, including Finland, which as the current EU Presidency country, joined the festival this year for the first time.

Alongside the main film screenings, the festival served as a venue for public talks and masterclasses hosted by local and international professionals, including ‘Festivals in the Age of Streaming’ by Jens Geiger and ‘Restoring Armenia’s Film Heritage’ by Daniel Bird.
