The Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) congratulates the newly elected President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan. His term comes at a time when our nation faces many continued complex regional and global challenges which require strong leadership and motivated progress.

AGBU expresses its gratitude to outgoing President Armen Sarkissian for his service and leadership during critical times, starting with ensuring a smooth transition following the Velvet Revolution to navigating a global pandemic and remaining a sound advisor during the 44-day Artsakh War.

AGBU has developed a strong working relationship with now President Khachaturyan in his former positions as the Minister of High-Tech Industry and Mayor of Yerevan and is ready to work constructively with him to build on the long-standing tradition to further develop the country and address the needs of our people.  Only with the close cooperation among the offices of the President, the Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Armenian Church, and our global Diaspora can the best interest of our Nation and its people be served.

The Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) is the world's largest non-profit organization devoted to upholding the Armenian heritage through educational, cultural and humanitarian programs. Each year, AGBU is committed to making a difference in the lives of 500,000 people across Armenia, Artsakh and the Armenian diaspora.  Since 1906, AGBU has remained true to one overarching goal: to create a foundation for the prosperity of all Armenians. To learn more visit www.agbu.org
